african film focus / story-telling

First and foremost a griot, a performer who perpetuates oral traditions by singing histories and tales, Sotigui Kouyaté reached an international audience through the work of Peter Brook, notably in his productions of Mahabharata and The Tempest. In a special one-off story-telling session, he will perform live accompanied on the sacred African instrument the N'Goni by musician Toumani Diakité, who has played with the likes of Salif Keïta, Mory Kanté and Susheela Raman.
