Eldorado, by the French author Laurent Gaudé (La Mort du roi Tsongor, Le Soleil des Scorta), interweaves the stories of several poor Africans determined to reach the 'European Eldorado' at any cost. Salvatore Piracci is the captain of a boat that patrols the south Italian coastline picking up illegal immigrants from the sea. His life changes when one day his path crosses that of a woman he saved from the sea long ago... A rare reading not to be missed by Comédie française actor and director Marcel Bozonnet, introduced by Armelle Desnoulez (Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge).
