Its stylish art deco premises makes an original venue for a conference, party or annual meeting. |  |  | The Institut français, a Grade ll listed art deco building, was conceived by French architect Patrice Bonnet and inaugurated in 1939. Its unique façade (high vertical windows, columns incised with delicate lattice work, brickwork and beige ceramic plaques) and monumental proportions give the building a strong presence in the architectural environment. The interior is as impressive as the exterior: the large foyer area is dominated by a sweeping marble staircase featuring the famous Rodin statue l’Age d’Airain and an original tapestry by Sonia Delaunay, the beautiful two-floor library (originally a ballroom) and the cinema, the ‘Ciné lumière’, also on two levels was originally a theatre. |

CINE LUMIERE
A spacious auditorium of 299 seats split over two levels, with a good-sized stage for presentations, stage lighting, spotlights and 35mm dolby sound system. Ciné lumière is equipped for projections on 35mm, 16mm, DVD, PAL/VHS and Beta. Great for big meetings, concerts, lectures or festival and gala screenings.

A spacious period reception room, divisible into two parts if required. Ideal for dinners, parties and press launches, Le Salon holds up to 80 people. |
LA PETITE SALLE
Ideal for talks, seminars and conferences, the Petite Salle holds 70 people.

LA MEDIATHEQUE
An attractive, wood panelled room with intricate parquet floor and plenty of natural light, the library's distinctive art deco reading room would make a great veune for a lecture or buffet lunch. Available after 7.30pm Tuesday to Saturday, Mondays and Sundays all day.
