Talented Portuguese filmmaker Pedro Costa, named Foreign Cineaste of the year at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival for No Quarto de Vanda (In Vanda's Room) is acclaimed for his use of an ascetic style to depict marginalised people living desperate situations. A thead of the screening his new film, he will explain his background, influences and working methods.
