All Power to the Imagination! // patrick rotman evening

1968 was without doubt the most turbulent and eventful year since the end of the Second World War. The youth uprisings affecting Western Europe and North America culminated in France in May. Across the world, this was the year that the challenge to world orders and the powers that be reached its climax.

Patrick Rotman, historian and filmmaker, will introduce his film 68 and discuss his latest writings Les années 68 (Le Seuil, March 2008), and Mai 68 raconté à ceux qui ne l'ont pas vécu (Le Seuil, Feburary 2008), co-written with his daughter Charlotte, a journalist.
