For its fourth edition, the festival again gathers a selection of some of the best recent Spanish productions with a special focus on films by new young directors like Félix Viscarret (Bajo las estrellas ), Antonio Muñoz de Mesa (Amigos de Jesús), Carlos García-Alix (El honor de las injuries ), Alberto Morais (Un lugar en el cine ) and Luis Piedrahita & Rodrigo Sopeña (La habitación de Fermat ). Also on the line-up, several examples of what some have identified as a 'new wave' in Spanish cinema - indie films distinguished by a low-key aesthetic – such as Jaime Rosales’ La soledad , Rafa Cortés’ Yo . This year's retrospective strand will focus on the great Spanish director, writer and actor Fernando Fernán Gómez, who died last November, with a selection of three of his films (El mar y el tiempo, Belle Epoque and Viaje a ninguna parte), the documentary profile La silla de Fernando (by David Trueba and Luis Alegre), and a round table.
