Official Season Launch: 13 October 2008 with in-i

A joint project involving over 50 venues in France and the UK, Paris Calling – Theatre is a cross-Channel celebration of contemporary drama and performance. Bringing together new and established names working in a wide range of disciplines and on projects large and small, the season aims to encourage closer working relationships between French and British professionals, and expand audiences for their work in both countries.

A performance of in-i, choreographer Akram Khan's new production featuring the work of acclaimed visual artist Anish Kapoor and the festival's honorary patron, multiple award-winning actress Juliette Binoche, will launch the season on 13 October at the National Theatre. In parallel, the BFI Southbank will honour Binoche this autumn with an exhibition of portraits until 02/10 and a month-long retrospective of her 25-year film career on show throughout September at BFI Southbank (until 15/10).
