The Institut français is specialised in further professional developments and educational projects for individuals, institutions, public and private sectors. New technology, a professional library with full of pedagogical resources on French teaching and learning strategies, a multimedia laboratory and the latest teaching methods all combine to put the most modern tools available at teachers’ disposal.
Seminars and workshops will take place regularly such as “Web 2.0 tools for your class”, “How to use an Interactive Whiteboard in your class” and “Let’s be KS2 Teacher in French”. With the support of experienced professionals, teachers can practise their skills in real-life situations and experiment with teaching techniques.
Change in the curriculum
The Primary French Project aims to support any primary school that wishes to teach French throughout Key Stage 2 as part of the statutory curriculum.
Materials and guidance are freely available from Culturethèque at www.culturetheque.org.uk
French teaching materials for use in the KS2 classroom have the following aims:
- to exemplify the Programme of Study for Languages in Key Stage 2
