Assistants
FOREIGN LANGUAGE ASSISTANTS PROGRAMME

Open to students with 2 years of higher education, this scheme enables native-speakers to spend an average of eight months in a foreign country, where they help with the teaching of languages in schools. Now more than a 100 years old the FLAs programme has allowed thousands of young people to get first-hand experience of another country, another culture and another language while contributing to the teaching of their own language and culture to other young people close in age and interests.
This programme is run jointly by the British Council, the Centre International d'Etudes Pédagogiques, the Ministère de la Jeunesse, de l'Education Nationale et de la Recherche, and the Cultural Department of the French Embassy in the UK.
