Kids (3-12 years) can visit the children's library, and learn about French language and culture whilst teens (13-18 years) can discover the multimedia library (the Médiathèque), the Institut's digital library (Culturethèque), and be introduced to useful resources for GCSE and A-level revision.
The programme includes:
For kids (3-12 years):
- an introduction to the Institut français (a short speech about its history, a presentation of the Ciné Lumière and the Médiathèque) and discovery of the Children's library collections
- storytime in English and/or French followed by activities like sing french children's songs, colouring, etc.
For teens (13-18 years):
- an introduction to the Institut français (a short speech about its history and a presentation of the Ciné Lumière) and to its multimedia library and Culturethèque at the Médiathèque
- a detailed presentation of the multimedia resources available, advice on academic research methods and an educational and interactive quizz and treasure hunt about French contemporary society: cinema, literature, environment, immigration, eating habits, sports
From 10.30am | duration: 1h30 | £5 per child | free for accompanying teachers
