Among the artists profiled are singer-songwriter jeli Habib Koité; singer and rivers blues guitarist Afel Bocoum; and the women of the Tuareg group Tarti. From different ethnic backgrounds, they each illustrate the influence of the Sahara on the musical traditions of their people.
