les dialogues du centenaire
Daniel Pennac's last book in English, School Blues (MacLehose Press, translated by Sarah Ardizzone), explores the many facets of schooling, including how consumerism has altered attitudes to learning. Daniel Pennac was a teacher before writing children's books. A continued interest in education and social affairs led to his book The Rights of the Reader, and thereafter to School Blues. Michael Rosen is renowned for his work as a poet, performer, broadcaster and scriptwriter. He lectures and teaches in universities on children’s literature, reading and writing. He has strong views on education and recently took part in a conference entitled 'Education for Liberation' in London.
