1940. Julien Maroyeur, a modest radio-mast repairman in a village in
the north of France decides one day to flee with his pregnant wife
Monique and their little girl. On a packed train they are separated.
The men are cooped up in the animal wagons. Separated from his wife,
Julien meets Anna, a young German girl who is running away from her
home town because she is Jewish.
