Projet Lumière(s) | Institut français du Royaume-Uni

Projet Lumière(s)

With the growing success of the Institut’s varied programme of activities, we have so many visitors that the internal spaces of our splendid Art Deco listed building seem to have shrunk. This impression, a real growth challenge, is the starting point of Projet Lumière(s), our latest development project. It has one aim: to allow the Institut to expand the scope of its programming. Our focus is two-fold: Enhancing the spaces: a major obstacle to the expansion of our activities is the obsolescence of key spaces within the Institut, namely ‘Les Salons’ and ‘La petite salle’. To improve the activities within these spaces: in the short term, this project will finance two years’ worth of activities. In the long term, benefiting from these new spaces implies a greater number of activities, with an increasing diversification of our cultural offering.

We would like to express our gratitude to Lambert Wilson who has agreed to be the Patron of Projet Lumière(s).

I am delighted to support the Institut français du Royaume-Uni as Patron of the Projet Lumière(s). It's a great initiative - fostering further cross-cultural exchange between France and the UK. These ‘lumières’ - whether they are those of cinema or enlightened minds - must be treasured. Creating a new home within the Institut's premises will encourage increased dialogue and challenge ideas says Lambert Wilson.

Lambert Wilson will attend the UK Premiere of The Odyssey and fund-raising cocktail reception on Wednesday 5 July at Ciné Lumière. Find out more about the event.

Help us give French culture the most beautiful of homes!
