John Burnett-Hall started the piano aged 6, learning the classical repertoire at school and maintaining it as a hobby through university courses at Oxford and the L.S.E. After developing his interest in Gershwin and Cole Porter playing in Soho piano bars, he started playing dinner jazz full time at Le Monteverdi restaurant in Paris, before returning to London to play in various 5-star hotels, restaurants, bars, as well as private and corporate functions. In 2003 he became the resident pianist at the Cobden Club in Notting Hill, and more recently founded the ‘Louche Lounge Society’ for whom he has organised frequent jazz parties and other events at various venues around London, most notably the Cobden Club, Pizza On The Park Jazz Club and Aragon House (see online at www.jbhjazz.com for more details). John’s repertoire consists primarily of well-known jazz standards, swing and the “Great American Songbook”, together with some blues and latin. He is available to play for all kinds of event, either solo or together with jazz singers, other instruments or a full dance band, as the occasion demands.
