Your new Boutique Cinema
Building on the success of the 230-seat Ciné Lumière, the Institut français in London has opened a new 35-seat boutique cinema, to expand its programming. Stylish, cosy and intimate, Ciné Lumière II offers an ideal setting and a unique cinematic experience to enjoy independent cinema and alternative contents.
Ciné Lumière II allows both a continuation of Ciné Lumière’s current programming and the creation of a more specialised and curated series of films and events, in collaboration with British partners. Much more than a cinema, Ciné Lumière II will indeed be a forum for debates addressing current issues and championing cultural diversity, an innovative space open to young creators featuring new forms of expression and viewing experiences.
Located in the lower ground floor of the Grade II listed building of the Institut français, Ciné Lumière II provides a high level of comfort, state-of-the-art technology and an inspiring setting, boasting an Art Deco style with a contemporary twist, geometric forms, warm materials, and a bold palette of colours.
Ciné Lumière II and its adjacent lounge area is also available for corporate and private hire, providing a perfect all-in-one backdrop for daytime and evening events.
Part of the Projet Lumière(s) – a fundraising project under the patronage of French actor Lambert Wilson – this creation has been made possible thanks to the support of the Friends of the French Institute Trust, the Patrons’ Circle and generous donors.
