Festivals & Series
Not that we are constantly waving the French flag, but it’s that time of the year again, when French cinema is celebrated UK-wide and especially at Ciné Lumière on the occasion of the 24th French Film Festival (at Ciné Lumière from 3 to 10 November and nationwide until 7 December).
Opening with the haunting From the Land of the Moon, which was in the official selection in Cannes this year and starring the blue-eyed girl and boy of French cinema, Marion Cotillard and Louis Garrel, you will also find the stunning animated movie The Red Turtle, an insight on Emile Zola and Paul Cézanne’s friendship in Cézanne and I, restored prints of Les Portes de la nuit and La Grande Vadrouille, along with the excellent documentary on French cinema by Bertrand Tavernier, the latest Bruno Dumont, Ma Loute, the box office hit Chocolat starring Omar Sy and so much more!
