‘Pure, raw, chaotic newness – still fresh after all this time’. The Guardian
The epitome of cinematic cool which inspired a generation of filmmakers from Quentin Tarantino and Tony Scott to Lars Von Trier and Terrence Malick, Breathless features iconic performances from Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg as one of the central, most delightful and insolent couple in cinema history. A small-time thief steals a car and impulsively murders a motorcycle policeman. Wanted by the authorities, he reunites with a hip American journalism student and attempts to persuade her to run away with him to Italy.
