Ireland/UK | dir. Phyllida Lloyd with Clare Dunne, Harriet Walter and Conleth Hill
Sandra (Clare Dunne) is a young mother struggling to provide her two young daughters with a safe, happy home to grow up in after leaving an abusive relationship. When it becomes clear that the local council won’t provide that home, she decides to build it herself. With very little income and an ex-husband a constantly threatening presence, Sandra calls on the kindness of a community of friends to build a house and rebuild her sense of self. Writer and lead actor Dunne is joined by Harriet Walter in this big-hearted, hugely engrossing drama from the producers of The Favourite and the director of Mamma Mia!
