Ciné Lumière joins forces with the BFI in December to celebrate Haitian documentary and feature filmmaker Raoul Peck.
Former Minister of Culture of Haiti, Raoul Peck, expresses his “need for remembrance” in his socially conscious cinema. Radically committed, his body of work is often focused on the post-colonial legacy.
His films and documentaries oft echo one another such as his latest feature, Murder in Pacot, a fictional response to his documentary Fatal Assistance, that exposes the inefficient humanitarian aid after the 2010 earthquake that shattered Haiti.
On the occasion of the BFI’s Raoul Peck Season (3–11 Dec).
