FRA | 1933 & 1994 | Jean Vigo and Jean-Luc Godard | cert. PG & tbc
Jean Vigo’s ground-breaking film Zéro de conduite, is a hugely influential portrait of prankish boarding-school students. Banned in France until 1945, it is one of cinema’s great acts of rebellion. While in JLG/JLG – autoportrait de décembre, Godard attempts a cinematic self-portrait, in his own words, a film ‘composed of a mixture (…) of four elements: landscapes crossed; films made; films not made; JLG in his daily action.’
Zéro de conduite will be screened in 35mm.
