FRA/MEX/BRA/GER | 2021 | dir. Mia Hansen-Løve, with Vicky Krieps, Tim Roth, Mia Wasikowska
Hoping to find inspiration for their upcoming films, scriptwriter Chris travels with her film director husband Tony to the mythical Swedish island Fårö, where Ingmar Bergman created many of his films. Fighting her writer’s block, Chris immerses herself in exploring the island’s connection to Bergman, subsequently narrating a story that blurs the line between fiction and reality. The latest film from acclaimed French director Mia Hansen-Løve uses the breathtaking scenery of the island as the backdrop for a poignant rumination on love and creativity.
