Inspired by a real murder case, Tarik Saleh brings Nordic noir sensibilities to the Egyptian capital and a grubby world of personal, political and systematic corruption. In Cairo, weeks before the 2011 revolution, Police Detective Noredin is working in the infamous Kasr el-Nil Police Station when he is handed the case of a murdered singer. Upon realising the involvement of Egypt’s power elite, Noredin slowly changes sides to those who are defenceless against it. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance 2017 World Cinema.
