Johnny First arrives in the Wild West town of Santa Carolina with his film projector and hopes to bring order to this tough, cowboy-infested town through cinema. A red Western which affectionately satires the genre while critiquing the death of the Soviet State, A Man from Boulevard des Capucines was directed by one of the few female Soviet directors of any stature at the time, Alla Surikova.
