In the Name of the Father

Winner of the Golden Bear at the 1994 Berlinale and based on a true story, In the Name of the Father recounts the police errors that led to the wrong conviction and sentence to life imprisonment of Gerry Conlon (Daniel Day-Lewis), and three other suspects, in the aftermath of the 1974 Guilford pub bombings in Northern Ireland that killed four off-duty British Soldiers and a civilian.
