Written and produced by Anne Webber, co-founder and co-chair of the Commission for Looted Art in Europe, this documentary follows the Gutmann family’s 50-year quest to recover their missing art collection, seized from them by the Nazis, culminating in their finding a stolen Degas painting and the controversial legal battle to reclaim it.
Followed by a debate with Anne Webber, Emmanuelle Polack (Head of the Archives of the Musée des Monuments français), Fabio Isman (Italian journalist, Il Giornale dell’Arte), Melissa Müller and Monika Tatzkow (co-authors of Lost Lives, Lost Art: Jewish Collectors, Nazi Art Theft and the Quest for Justice).
