Patrick Süskind’s acclaimed novel finds its cinematic adaptation in the experimented hands of German director Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run). Jean-Baptiste Grenouille (Ben Whishaw), a scentless alienated young man, is ironically gifted – or cursed – with an acute sense of smell which he intends to use to create the perfect perfume by extreme means, going as far as killing to extract the most exquisite essence.
