Francesco, Sergio and Antonio, three unemployed young men live idly in a small, poverty-stricken village, spending their time roaming the streets and chasing girls. After Antonio takes up an opportunity to follow his family to Rome, he enrols in university there, leaving his two friends behind. Featuring an atmospheric original score by Ennio Morricone, The Lizards is Lina Wertmüller’s first film and launched an international career that spanned over several decades.
