Architecture on Screen

One of the most iconic buildings in the world and a triumphant landmark of France’s industrial efforts at the end of the 19th century, the Eiffel Tower is also a recurrent character in René Clair’s silent films. In La Tour, he attempted to make ‘a poem in images,’ exploring this unique structure through an astonishing use of images and montage.
A few decades later, Le Corbusier built his very own small cabin by the sea, in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, where he spent most of his summers. The cabin is an architectural reflection on Le Corbusier’s conception of the perfect space.
