Every year on 20 March, countries around the world celebrate Francophonie through cultural events honouring the French language. On this occasion, the Institut français dedicates the whole month of March to events and initiatives celebrating the language of Molière.
This year, festivities include grand French debating competitions, the Joutes Oratoires Lycéennes, for British pupils learning French in secondary schools in the country or the Joutes Oratoires Universitaires, where Francophile students coming from across the UK, engage in a battle of wit and words.
Don’t miss also the screening of Speak Up, an eloquent documentary nominated for the Best Documentary César Award 2018.
