Sound on Screen celebrates and explores the relationships between music and cinema through groundbreaking events combining live music with film screenings in innovative ways.
This performance, starring Quatuor Voce, Alexander Schmalcz (piano) and Diana Galvydyte (violin), will feature excerpts from Shutter Island, Death and the Maiden and The Kreutzer Sonata shown on the big screen of Ciné Lumière, as the musicians play their respective soundtracks live, including Beethoven’s Sonata for Piano and violin in A, Op.47, Mahler’s Piano Quartet in A Minor, and Schubert’s String Quartet in D minor, D.810.
