Temporary Closure of the Institut français

Dear lovers of French culture and language,

The Institut français has been monitoring public health advice carefully for the past few weeks. The safety of our visitors and staff is of the utmost importance and we have tried to offer you the best moments of culture as long as possible.

Due to the evolving COVID-19 global pandemic, the Institut français (Cultural Centre and Language Centre) will be temporarily closed from Thursday 19 March morning until further notice.

All French courses will be delivered remotely online with your teacher.

Stay Tuned

    – Check our website and follow us on our social media for regular updates
    – Stay in the loop, as we’ll regularly share cultural contents digitally in the forthcoming weeks
    – Check our range of online courses

Please note that the following measures are implemented:

    – The Institut français offers you a voucher for all tickets already bought for films and cultural events. Please keep your tickets or e-tickets and come to the Cultural Centre when it reopens.
    – Should you wish to receive a refund instead, please contact sg@institutfrancais.org.uk
    – Library users may hold on to their documents until the Médiathèque and Bibliothèque Quentin Blake reopen
    – Membership cards will be extended automatically.
    – French exams will be rescheduled.
    – Café Tangerine is closed until further notice

Thank you for your ongoing support to the Institut français. We will keep you informed of the date of reopening of the Institut français depending on the public health recommendations.

Take care and see you very soon!
