Celebrating VE Day

On 8 May, we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the end of WW2 and Victory in Europe Day.

75 years ago, the Allied forces announced the surrender of the Nazis, and soldiers from France, the UK, and all over the world laid down their weapons on the European front.

Behind history, which we shall remember, we want to look back at personal true stories of the French and UK soldiers, nurses, individuals who resisted, who lived, who loved in spite of terrible times.

These people were full of hope for a brighter future, a hope which led to Robert Schuman’s famous declaration of 9 May 1950, known as the founding text of European integration. A hope shared by Winston Churchill when he delivered one of his most famous speeches and advocated for a United States of Europe in 1946.
