Fri 20 Apr - Wed 9 May

Drawing (for) Europe

The Fabric of Citizenship

Leading figures of children’s illustration, such as Axel Scheffler, Stephanie Blake, Claude K. Dubois and Patrick George give us their vision of Europe in this exhibition. This pan-European initiative, now led by the Pulse of Europe movement, was launched in 2017 by German publisher Moritz Verlag during the Frankfurt Book Fair, in order to demonstrate the kind of community, solidarity and cooperation that make the EU today. The original exhibition will be complemented by drawings by British artists, including Quentin Blake, Benji Davies and Bridget Strevens Marzo.

Join Axel Scheffler on Europe Day, on 9 May for a special tour of the exhibition, followed by a talk on European citizenship with Alexander Freiherr Knigge (Pulse of Europe), Kalypso Nicolaidis (Centre for International Studies, Oxford University) and Marianne Magnin (Europe Cordiale Circle).
