Guided Tours, Book Sale and Archives Exhibition

As part of Open House London, the Institut will open its doors wide and reveal its secrets. Did you know that the Institut was founded in 1910 by a woman, Marie d’Orliac? Or that we welcomed Charles de Gaulle during the Second World War? Learn all about the Institut’s fascinating history and gorgeous Art Deco architecture including the recently renovated Grade II listed Reading Room with our guided tours and archives exhibition.

Open House for Kids

An important part of this year’s Open House at the Institut is to give children a voice. So we will hand over the design of the best Children’s Library to all our young visitors! Fun-filled creative sessions and short visits for kids led by top children’s entertainers and craftspeople will take place at the Institut throughout the day.

Book Sale

We will have a thematic selection of books for Adults, teens & childrens, relating to classic and contemporary novels, arts & humanities, social sciences, poetry, literature essays and comics. We will also have a CD and DVDs corner. All will be at drastically reduced prices.

For kids
Our Children’s Library will sell novels, fictional, factual and picture books, comics. A reading corner with crayons and paper will be available for a comfy break between tours and activities.
Payment by preference: cash and cheque.
Please bring your own bags to take home your books.
