Essays

  • Summer is time to reset! Get into new ways of thinking with a bit of theory on Culturethèque. More specifically, you will also be able to browse our online philosophy section
  • Our best philosophy picks can be borrowed at La Médiathèque via our click & collect service. To help us think current – and tormented – times, we have devised a selection of contemporary French philosophy, including texts by Frédéric Gros, Charles Pépin, and Barbara Cassin. These thinkers, leading in the field, cover key notions, such as beauty, nostalgia, revolution, social conformism and political authority. The classics shed light on today too, and essays by Bergson, de Beauvoir, Foucault and Serres are also available.

Comic books
For a summer in bubbles, let’s look back at the recommendations shared during the friendly, collective discussions of the French Comics Apéro.

You can borrow books safely through our new Click & Collect service (until 22 July).
