Tackling Pollution: Schooner Tara on the Thames

From the Artic to the Pacific, the Tara schooner has sailed the world’s oceans to study the ecological crisis they face due to climate change. In 2019, the Tara Ocean Foundation focuses on microplastics pollution in large European rivers. The Tara schooner will start water sampling in the Thames in June, before heading to 20 other European rivers. Romain Troublé (Tara Ocean Foundation CEO), Jean-François Ghiglione (Scientific Director of Tara Europe 2019) and Holly Nel (Research Fellow, U. of Birmingham) will discuss Tara’s scientific, ecological and political mission in a panel discussion, illustrated with film clips.
