The Fabric of Citizenship

Public and political uses of the past in France and Great Britain from 1789 to present day

For the 50th anniversary of the Paris protests of May 1968, the Institut français du Royaume-Uni and the Higher Education, Research and Innovation department of the French Embassy organise a series of seminars and events throughout the year in partnership with King’s College London.

This series on Franco-British Culture, History, and Theory kick-started on the Night of Ideas 2018 where researchers discussed the idea of revolution and the myths behind it.

Bringing together renowned researchers from both sides of the Channel, this series of events will highlight the writing of national narratives and the fabric of citizenship.
