I am a trained linguist with a PhD in English from the University of Bordeaux. I also have a Master of Arts from the Royal College of Art in London. My name is Hélène and I come from Alsace. For the past 15 years I have been teaching both general and specialised French to students of all ages and levels, at the Institut français and at various London universities. I have two masters degrees, one in Literature and the other in Science of Language. I studied for both of these by correspondence, and so I am particularly sensitive to the special characteristics of distance and online learning. I love teaching as it allows me to meet people from different backgrounds with different horizons.
I arrived in England in 1993 to work as a French language assistant in a secondary school near Harrow on the Hill. I qualified as a French language teacher in 1996, teaching teenagers aged between 11 and 18 and preparing them for GCSEs and A-Levels. I moved to adult education in 2001, mainly teaching at the Institut français but also for large companies. I currently guide adults through general French, in groups or on a one-to-one basis, while still preparing youngsters for their school exams. I really enjoy the variety of my students and helping them overcome the particular challenges they face when studying French. I have also done some translation and proof-reading work. I’m a very active person, exercising and dancing regularly and I love travelling.
I studied for a master’s degree in food industry. When I started living abroad in Africa and in South America a few years ago, I discovered I appreciate being in contact with other languages and cultures. In 2012, I completed a program of study to become a French language teacher. I really enjoy adapting my lessons to student’s background and objectives and making my language accessible to all. I love literature and talking about my last readings! I am also a certified French Delf/Dalf examiner and a freelance proof-reader.
I come from the South of France, from a town called L’Isle-sur-Sorgue in Provence. I have a Master Degree in English Language and Literature and I have studied for a Ph.D on French Literature at University College London. I am also a fully trained E.Learning tutor and I have taught on-line courses for almost 7 years now. Foreign languages and literature have always been my passion, and teaching people from various cultures and backgrounds, whether in a class group or on-line have been highly rewarding throughout all these years. I have a deep interest in all arts, particularly writing and photography, both of which I practice when time allows.

I have been working at the Institut français in London for 11 years, teaching students of all age groups and levels, on a range of courses; from European and International exams to general conversation, including very specialised courses. I have also taught in secondary schools (GCSE and A level) and universities. I like the challenge of adapting to the diversity of my students’ needs and create very tailor-made courses, ensuring every aspect of the language is included. I am enthusiastic and like to offer my students an enjoyable, comfortable and motivating learning environment using a variety of materials and teaching methods. I very much enjoy the flexibility and the diversity of e-learning and look forward to meeting you online.

My name is Stéphanie. I have a postgraduate degree in teaching French and have worked at the Institut français for the last 14 years. I have taught students from every kind of background and at all levels from total beginners through to very experienced. Also my students have had extremely different objectives; some of them had to have French up to the level of being a diplomat; others simply wanted to speak French on holiday. My lessons will be tailored to your needs. I use a variety of teaching techniques including the Internet and other modern methods. I was born and grew up not far from La Loire but have lived here in England for many years. I very much enjoy going hiking in the English countryside, going to the cinema and cooking.
