Ahead of the Night of Ideas on 6 Feb 2025, British dramatist, author, and film and theatre director Alexander Zeldin was presented with the insignia of Chevalier in the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by Sébastien Bidaud, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of France to the United Kingdom.
In doing so, the French Republic pays tribute to Zeldin’s contribution to theatre and art, and his ties to France. A well-deserved reward for an inspiring figure, whose work imbued with touching humanity and a remarkable sharp social message is staged at the world’s greatest festivals and theatres.
