
Made under the military junta, the story of a woman’s desire to escape the family home and create a life outside the system was dangerously challenging to political order of Argentina. Bemberg struggled for five years to get her script approved by censors, who saw her criticism extending from family to state, with her lead character, Leonor, an emblem of rupture.
