1970s America has witnessed a generational chasm and a society torn apart by Vietnam. But JB, an art school dropout, is only concerned by the beauty and value of the local art museum collection, as he decides to organise a heist.

Reichardt’s (First Cow, Wendy and Lucy) smartly crafted drama, selected at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, offers a sensitive political critique of our times, and a quietly thoughtful examination of what we owe ourselves, as well as our familial and social tribes.

With its jazzy score, outstanding image, period detailing and nuanced performances, it’s a joyful take on the classical heist film.
