Acclaimed actor, member of the Comédie-Française, stage director and filmmaker, Guillaume Gallienne adds another feather to his cap with his book Le Buveur de brume, published in France.
With this intimate portrayal of his Georgian roots and his childhood memories, he reflects upon the figures that have shaped his life and nurtured the unique sensitivity that defines him as an artist today. On one hand, he confronts the absence of love and validation from an authoritarian paternal figure – an absence which ultimately drove him to seek meaning and existence through his dreams. On the other, he pays a vibrant tribute to the women in his life that transmitted him much love, tenderness and warmth.
Through this deeply personal narrative, he expresses his love of language while exploring how we inherit the stories that precede us, and how those narratives continue to shape who we become.
