United by the unexpected inheritance of a house in Normandy, four estranged cousins discover their family’s history. As they explore the house, left untouched since the 1940s, they delve into the life of their ancestor, Adèle Vermillard, whose youth unfolded during a period of profound change in French art and society.
Through back-and-forth journeys between 1895 and 2025, the cousins cross paths with figures like Monet, Nadar, and Sarah Bernhardt, in a journey that helps them make sense of their own future. From the director of Rise, Call My Agent! and Pot Luck.
Colours of Time was voted Favourite Film by the audience of the French Film Festival London 2025.
The screenings on 3 and 6 April are exclusive previews at Ciné Lumière, courtesy of Studiocanal UK
Colours of Time is on national release from 17 April.
