Aimed at both early-career and established translators, as well as students in translation, the programme brings together participants from across the world to explore translation into and out of English across a wide range of languages, including French, Arabic, Chinese, German, Italian, Spanish, and more.
Participants will work in small, interactive workshop groups (maximum 12 participants) led by award-winning professional translators, focusing on fiction, non-fiction, and hybrid texts. Workshops run over three days, allowing for in-depth engagement with texts and close mentorship.
French Workshops
The Institut français du Royaume-Uni is pleased to support the French-language workshops at Oxford Translates, contributing to the visibility and development of literary translation between French and English.
This year’s French-language workshops, both into and out of English, will be led by three acclaimed translators: Sarah Ardizzone, Natasha Lehrer, two Scott Moncrieff Prize laureates, and Marie Hermet.
The deadline for scholarship applications is 16 March 2026.
An early-bird rate is available for those who apply by 31 March 2026.
