William Klein seeks inspiration in his decade-long career as a fashion photographer for Vogue, to deliver a satirical portrayal of the world of Parisian haute couture. In this sumptuous black-and-white film, Polly Maggoo (Dorothy MacGowan) is an American top model in Paris, whose fantasies and pretensions reflect the ongoing disillusionment of the cultural institutions.
The screening on 6 Dec will be introduced by festival co-founders Marketa Uhlirova and Christel Tsilibaris and will be followed by a panel also including Caroline Evans, chaired by Alistair O’Neill
