Founded in 2013, LICAF is the UK’s leading celebration of the ninth art, bringing together fans, creators and publishers from around the world. After three editions in Bowness-on-Windermere, the festival returns to Kendal from 2 to 4 October, centred on the Brewery Arts Centre and spilling out into venues and businesses across the town. The collaboration with Serge Bloch follows a first exploratory visit to Kendal in September 2025, also supported by the Institut français.
Running from 21 September to 8 October, Not That Into Comics playfully challenges the comic medium itself. From the Malt Room at the Brewery Arts Centre, an interactive trail of 2D, 3D and augmented reality illustrations takes over the streets, with window designs in local shops, street banners and hands-on sculptures in the Brewery gardens. A free newspaper designed by the two artists, exploring the paradox of claiming not to like a medium they secretly adore, completes the installation. Serge Bloch and Mathieu Diez will lead a guided tour of the exhibition on Saturday 3 October, 11am to 12pm.
