The Institut français is delighted to announce the opening of Café Tangerine, a new cafe-restaurant within its cultural centre in South Kensington. High-quality food, creative dishes and great flavours combined with stylish settings, a welcoming environment and a relaxing atmosphere are on the menu of Café Tangerine.
Part of this new venture, Limpet Barron and David Hughes, the influential team that built up the award-winning café and events business at the Chelsea Physic Garden, will run Café Tangerine.
Housed within the beautiful Art Deco surroundings of the Institut français, they are once again providing expertly sourced & high-quality food that made their reputation.
“I’ve known and worked with David and Limpet for many, many years. Their standard of produce, cooking and service is fantastic.” Sir Paul Smith, CBE
Seasonally driven, designed to showcase the best produce from France and the UK and including some of their signature dishes alongside fusion food with international flavour, the food matches the diversity of the cultural programme of the Institut français.
Wine lovers will be well served with a French led list, completed by a selection of beers and spirits, and a few of Limpet’s favourite cocktails to look forward to.
Café Tangerine is open for coffee and madeleines from 11am, light lunches and snacks from 12 noon, and continues on until mid-evening in support of the wide range of films and events on offer at the Institut français.
