11–12 June 2025

Join acclaimed author and journalist Elaine Sciolino for two special events in Cambridge and London as she presents her latest book, Adventures in the Louvre: How to Fall in Love with the World’s Greatest Museum.

A former Paris bureau chief for The New York Times, Sciolino offers a fresh and personal exploration of the Louvre, the world’s most visited museum. Blending history, memoir and investigative journalism, her book unveils the museum’s treasures, famous masterpieces like the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo, as well as lesser-known gems, and the people who care for them, from curators to restorers and even firefighters.

Drawing on years of experience and deep affection for French culture, Sciolino leads readers through the Louvre’s galleries, basements and rooftops, revealing its hidden stories, overlooked details and enduring allure.

This is a rare opportunity to hear from one of the great interpreters of France’s cultural life, and to discover the Louvre through the eyes of someone who calls it her second home.
