French-Algerian novelist Boualem Sansal will deliver a keynote address at Policy Exchange on Tuesday 10 February at 12.00, his first public appearance since his release from detention in Algeria last year.

Known for his incisive and often provocative writing, Sansal will speak on questions of free expression before joining a conversation with Sir Trevor Phillips OBE, followed by audience Q&A.

Sansal is the author of Harraga (Bloomsbury, trans. Frank Wynne), An Unfinished Business (Bloomsbury), and 2084: The End of the World (Europa Editions UK, trans. Alison Anderson), the latter awarded the Grand Prix du roman de l’Académie française. His work has also been recognised with the Grand Prix de la Francophonie.
